Join the fun as a volunteer @ our May Dance Night!
Catholic Charities, Disability Services & Ministries (DSM) dances have been taking place for over 30 years and offer persons of all abilities, ages 18 and over, the opportunity to practice social skills, form friendships, and have fun! Dances are held at OLA/St. Joseph Center, which is fully accessible and based in the Tremont community. Dancers enjoy meeting their friends, making new friends, socializing, refreshments, great music and dance contest prizes!
Typical Dance Night Schedule:
6:00pm Volunteers Arrive
- Table set-up and decorations
- Pop and Chips prep
- Dance Prize Prep
7pm “Doors Open”
7:45ish Dance Contest with Prizes
7:55pm Birthdays (DJ announces) & Pop and Chips
9:00pm Goodbye and Clean-up!
- Wipe tables and sweep any food crumbs
- Return tables to original set up and take down décor
- Pack up dance supplies and store in supplies closet
Staff/ Volunteer Jobs/Assignments:
-Welcome Table Greeters
- Collect Money (if applicable)
- Give Pop & Chip ticket
-Name tag helper
-Dance contest “Judges” who hand out prizes (7:45pm)
-Pop and Chip Station (7:45- 8:15ish)
-Dancers/ Mingle-ers
