We are looking for an ambitious Master's Level student pursuing a degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy for the Summer. Open to working with students who are required to complete more than one semester for their field placement.
This internship will take place out of our Wayne County office and will give the student a chance to gain professional mentorship while learning about the industry in this clinical internship.
Scheduling is flexible M-F and may include some evening hours.

Basic Function: Intern will provide individual, family and group clinical therapeutic interventions, and clinical mental health, substance use, and trauma screenings.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Clinical Intern under the supervision of the Clinical Director or Clinical Supervisor will provide behavioral health assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling to clients and families in an outpatient setting.
- Provides group services and facilitate mental health/substance use/trauma screenings
- Provides services in office and community (home visits) as deemed appropriate by supervisor and client needs.
- Participates in agency and community meetings as needed.
- Participates in community events as needed.
- Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames.
- Meets core social work, counselor, marriage & family competencies and adheres to regulations.
Requirements:
- Individual is required to have a Bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a Master’s degree in an accredited program for Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Individual is required to have a trainee license. Will work with you to obtain license.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings. Office-based work is required as well as home-based work. Telehealth is not an option for this internship.
- Fingerprint, background check, completion of Catholic Charities onboarding procedures once accepted
- Intern will abide by the contractual agreement between Catholic Charities and the higher education program.
