Camp Christopher is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Sumfun Volunteers. This unique opportunity allows volunteers to make a positive impact on the lives of campers with disabilities while enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding experience. As a Sumfun Volunteer, you will work closely with our day campers and support our dedicated counselors in creating a fun and inclusive environment.
This is an opportunity for students ages 13-17 years old to volunteer at Camp Christopher!
Available days to volunteer in 2026:
- June 8-12
- June 15-19
- June 22-26
- July 6-10
- July 13-17
- July 20-24
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with camp counselors to assist in organizing and preparing activities for campers.
- Engage with campers in a friendly and supportive manner, promoting their participation and enjoyment.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere by promoting positive social interactions among campers and encouraging teamwork.
- Assist with logistical tasks, such as setting up equipment and materials needed for daily activities.
- Actively participate in all camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, and special events.
- Attend daily meetings and training sessions to stay informed about camp policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with individuals with disabilities and a desire to make a difference in their lives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with campers, counselors, and other volunteers.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physical stamina to engage in outdoor activities and provide support to campers throughout the day.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, following instructions and contributing to a positive camp environment.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a camp setting is a plus but not mandatory.
