Our office provides a number of services to recently arrived refugees as we help them resettle within our local communities. We also extend these services for a total of five years after arrival to assist with adjustment. We currently offer the following programs:
- Employment Services
- English Language Training
- Health & Wellness Support
- Immigration Legal Services
- Ohio Center for Survivors of Torture
We offer an array of opportunities for groups, families, and individuals, and provide training and direction for all volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Apartment set-ups
- Assisting with healthcare appointments
- Elderly & senior services
- Employment skills coaching
- Family or individual mentoring
- Immigration & legal services
- Internships
- Teaching and tutoring English as a second language
- Urban agriculture program
Volunteers are a vital extension of resettlement agency staff. They help refugees in a capacity that isn’t strictly service provider-client; they assist staff in enhancing service for refugees served; they help make Cleveland a more welcoming place!
