PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

Parking is available off 18th Street, between Payne and Superior. The lot is between two yellow pylons. Spaces for volunteers and staff are reserved with orange cones. The entrance is on the left side of the building (away from the street) under the fire escape. Security will let you in and direct you to the kitchen.

Catholic Charities St. Elizabeth Center services to the community include daily hot meals, help with basic needs, a choice food pantry, fresh produce, rental and utility assistance, temporary overnight shelter, coordinated entry and case management services.

Every month, on the third and fourth Fridays, St. Elizabeth Center distributes pantry bags to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to help prepare and distribute pantry bags.

Help inmates from Grafton Correctional Institution deliver their fresh, homegrown, produce to the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center.

As one inmate, Mike says “It’s a way to give something back.” Their garden produced over 20,000 pounds last year and it’s on tack to be even more this year. As a driver, you can help their produce reach those in need.

Vehicle Requirements & Support

Mid-size SUV or truck capable of holding up to 500 pounds of produce.

Heavy lifting support will be available. Staff and/or volunteers will be available at pickup and drop-off to  load and unload your vehicle.

Shift Schedule (Tuesdays and Fridays)

8:30 am - 9:30 am: Please plan to arrive between 8:30 am - 9:30 am for produce pickup at Grafton Correctional Institution.

35–45-minute drive to the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center.

9:15 am - 10:30 am: Produce delivery and unloading at the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center

St. Elizabeth Center in central Lorain is a community resource for persons who are homeless, hungry or otherwise vulnerable to receive assistance. Join us as an ongoing volunteer to support our clients.
