St. Augustine Hunter Center will be accepting donations on Wednesday, November 26, to stock the pantry for the holidays. Donations may be dropped off curbside from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Needed items include canned vegetables, soup, tuna fish; travel-sized hygiene products; household cleaning supplies; and paper products including toilet paper, paper towels, tissues.

Time: 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month

Role: Assist with distributing pantry boxes to families.

Examples: Bingo, group games, trauma-informed activities (coloring, meditation), life skills workshops (e.g., reading prescription labels).

Role: Lead or assist with structured activities that build community.

Basic Function:

Working with and under the supervision of the Clinical Director or Clinical Supervisor, is responsible for assisting with a wide range of projects, including but not limited to, providing clinical therapeutic and prevention services in an outpatient mental health office, school, community center and/or via telehealth.

This position is expected to complete office-based work with hours established according to the requirements of the educational institute. Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings.

Responsibilities:
The Clinical Intern will assist with the following projects or tasks:
• Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent
with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
• Provides behavioral health assessments, develop treatment plans and provide counseling to clients in a residential setting.
• Provides assistance with prevention programming which may include individual or group work.
• Participates in agency and community meetings as needed
• Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames.
• Meets core social work, counselor, marriage & family competencies and adheres to regulations.
• Perform other duties necessary to accomplish objectives.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
• Normal office environment;
• Constant talking, listening/hearing for giving instructions, daily communication with supervisor and other staff members;
• Occasional sitting, walking and standing to and from office spacing.
• Reading, writing and finger dexterity and hand movement in repetitive motions to manage correspondence, reports/notes, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer keyboard and client files required on a frequent basis;
• Tasks require frequent visual perception and discernment for assessing behavioral functioning;
• Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements:
• Individual is required to have a Bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a Master’s degree in an accredited program for Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Individual is required to have a trainee license.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule. Office-based work is required.
• Fingerprint, background check, completion of Catholic Charities onboarding procedures once accepted.
• Intern will abide by the contractual agreement between Catholic Charities and the higher education program.

Duties:

· Meet and greet event participants, as needed.

· Providing information to event participants, as needed.

· Help set up and take down event equipment, including tent/awning, tables, chairs, giveaways, and program information.

· Helping to construct and deconstruct structures, as needed (thinking about parade prep here)

· Assisting in transportation, loading and unloading of supplies for event.

· Assisting in taking photos, as needed, for company marketing and social media needs.

· Assist in the overall workings of Catholic Charities involvement in scheduled special events.

· Provide a positive representation of Catholic Charities at the event.

Impact: Represent Catholic Charities, its mission, and its work to those who may be unfamiliar with it. This helps broaden our reach and make positive connections with and within our community.

Time Commitment: Pre-arranged events, as needed, available, and scheduled to provide support to program staff.

General Volunteers: church services, serving meals

This is for the Friends of Camp Christopher volunteers who help regularly at Camp Christopher with maintenance and other projects. 

We are searching for delivery drivers to deliver produce from Grafton Correctional Institute to Bishop Cosgrove. Please respond if you are interested!

This will start roughly around June. 

Assist with clerical duties at Geauga County Office

For Catholic Commission-Summit County volunteers or Advisory Group members, for any other non-meeting or non-listed event related activity that is not regularly scheduled and otherwise listed in the Volunteer Opportunities.

Volunteer hours can vary, based on availability.

Catholic Commission-Summit Advisory Group monthly meetings. For Advisory Group members only. As of September 2023, monthly meetings resumed in person. But virtual meeting access is still available, when/as needed.

The Bishop Cosgrove Center (Cosgrove) is seeking volunteers to help with a variety of volunteer opportunities. Cosgrove is a hunger center and day drop-in center for the homeless and hungry of Cleveland and also provides supportive services to those in need in our communities. 

Volunteers can work with us one time (done-in-a-day) or on a regular basis. If you enjoy helping others and making a difference, then this is where you want to be!

A coordinator will contact you to plan out/confirm your volunteer schedule. 

We are seeking volunteer mentors to be matched with a youth ages 10-17 in Wayne County. Males are paired with males, and females are paired with females.

Volunteers are provided with training, gas cards, and opportunities for reimbursement for activities with their mentee. The program coordinator plans a monthly group event for all the mentors and mentees together.

Time Commitment

We ask volunteers to spend a minimum of 4 hours per month with their mentee, 2 hours at the group event and 2 hours individually.

Auto Insurance is required.
