Our primary focus is to link families to community resources and refer families to services that may help prevent out of home placements. We also work to reunify children with biological or relative family members. We are looking for a few human services students to join our team this school year! This internship is designed to enrich the intern’s theoretical and practice competencies related to servicing child welfare involved families; young parents who were previous wards of the state; temporary custody (TC) and Permanent Custody (PC); the links between the open child welfare case; foster to adopt placements; adoption policy and procedure; restoration of parental custody; kinship care; and the commonplace problems of children and teens in care. This is achieved by the interns participation in the following activities, including by not limited to: Learn and implement the Catholic Charities Community Based Services Client Enrollment Protocol. Learn and execute the referral process of coordinating care in the areas of mental health, addiction, domestic violence, anger management and linkages to housing/utilities resources.
